How to kill Candida?

There are many articles and entire websites out there on how to kill Candida; most of the people talking about the subject never had Candida in their life but common sense and general knowledge are enough apparently to write or talk lengthily about it.
Me, I’ve been dealing with Candida Overgrowth now for more than 3 years and saying that I had enough, it’s an understatement, but getting rid of it is not that easy, not at all.
I’m not going to give you any introduction on what’s a COS or how that heck happened, because if you’re reading this post, chances are you know exactly what I am talking about.
In my experience there could be many ways to act against a Candida overgrowth, are they all doable? No, they are not. Asking a person to stay 8 months on a diet that does not include: refined sugar, alcohol, starch, gluten, carbs, fruits, nuts, fermented foods or drinks, it’s like saying: go and live on a desert island and try to eat only fish or meat! Impossible for anyone to sustain this type of strict diet.
So how do we do it? Well I think the “easiest” way is to have a good plan and act in phases. You might find this type of approach everywhere, which I believe has some fundamental good basic in it.
First phase of the starvation I would do it with a prolonged Water Fast, at least two weeks drinking only water and doing enemas every single day. The second phase I’ll start the refeeding process with some liquids: first Bone Broth warmed up with a tbsp of Coconut oil and, maybe after 4/5 days of Bone Broth, adding some soups made of leafy greens and no starch or nuts whatsoever. Third phase for me best would be introducing slowly solid food and switching to a Ketogenic Diet having only 2 good size meals per day, so doing Intermitting Fasting. This 3rd phase should continue till Candida symptoms are ….apparently gone.
I’m going to start this plan as today; usually Water Fast helps a lot with my cravings and in general with my wellbeing so I want to be positive and believe it will work. Wish me luck!

Water Fast Day #1 - Giving up the grape juice to fight my Candida

Today’s Monday and although I planned to start a Bone Broth Fast for this week, I decided to take a different path and act more aggressively to fight my Candida Albicans Overgrowth. So I’m officially on Water Fast Day #1 and I hope I can continue water fasting for at least 7/10 days, after that I might resume the idea of starting the Bone Broth regiment as previously planned.
The reason behind this decision is due to my sugar cravings and the general state of my health; unfortunately the grape juice I had last week did not help at all, if anything I believe it aggravated the whole situation for all that sugar intake, so this weekend my sugar cravings were all over the roof, trying to fast and stay away from junk food…unsuccessfully.

I have been also contacted privately from some of the members of the MFS facebook group, to tell me NOT to do the regular MFS for the Candida, because all that sugar is not going to help the situation; on the other hand Water Fast is one of the most well-known way on how to put some balance on the Candida overgrowth; but be careful on saying on the MFS facebook page the two words: Water Fast or you’ll be banned for life! (hence the private conversation)
In any case I will not drink any grape juice for a while now and switch to water with squeezed lemon here and there, I will continue to take my tinctures though, I still believe they can be beneficial to kill some unwanted bad bacteria in my gut.
My thought of the day: If you have Candida Overgrowth issues give yourself a favour and stop drinking grape juice!

How I'm fighting my Candida

To fight my Candida Albicans Overgrowth (COS) I’m using various types of herbs that are supposed to be antifungal/antibacterial, help to clean the body and the GI tract. In addition to my personal choice herbs & supplements, I’m still taking twice a day the Dr. Morse tinctures that have also a lot of ingredients supposedly good to cope with Candida overgrowing.
Here’s a brief list of my army of herbs and supplements to fight the Candida:
  • Oregano Oil drops in the morning - powerful antifungal agent
  • Pau D’Arco capsules three times a day - powerful antifungal agent
  • Oregano Oil vulgare with garlic 2/3 times a day - powerful antifungal agents
  • MSM once a day – sulfur with countless health benefits
  • Probiotic 80 billion in the morning – to help the good bacteria in the gut
  • Probiotics 50 million in the evening
  • Biotin – very important for Candida sufferers because it prevents the Candida yeast cells from converting into the pathogenic, fungal form
I’m also working on cleaning my GI tract with the pudding based on Activated Charcoal, Psyllium Husk and Bentonite Clay, all great products for cleansing my digestive system.
In addition to this, it’s also the fact that I’m not eating any solid food so I’m giving my digestive system a rest.  Adding Bone Broth next week will also help fighting the Candida since it’s considered one of the best food sources to destroy Candida due to its positive effects on gut health.
In my humble opinion there's no way I could fight Candida Overgrowth just with a proper Diet, I need herbs / supplements / tinctures to help me in the process. Candida might be very hard to kill and having an Overgrowth sometime could mean that other fungus are present in the gut.
I cannot say that it’s been easy so far, especially drinking the grape juice, but the desire of getting rid of this terrible yeast is bigger than the pain. Plus I want my life back, I don’t want to be slave of sugar, of cravings, I want to enjoy everything mother’s nature gave us without fearing that I won’t be able to stop eating.

Stop drinking grape juice

It’s been few days now with this grape juice punishment-marathon and so far so-NOT good I would say. I’m feeling terrible drinking this juice. It’s a super load of daily sugar, I’m not losing weight, I feel always bloated, at the end of the day I’m nauseous of all the juice and sugar intake, it’s a pasteurized grape juice, what do you think is left of the fruit in it that could be beneficial for my body? I don’t think much. I’m sure all the sugar is not making me lose any fat, since my body is still fully running on glucose here. It’s been now 3 days my scale did not report any loss whatsoever, not even one single gram! WTH, with a Water Fast I would be down half way already.
Yesterday I made the mistake of buying a bottle of Concord grape juice from a local farmer’s market, in glass bottle, I paid $7 – definitely not cheap, but I thought it would be fresh and with no preservatives and crap like that. Well big mistake! It gave me stomach-ache with just few sips. I tried yesterday afternoon and this morning too, eventually I throw it away, and now I’m drinking lemon water to give my stomach a break. Well I learnt my lesson: don’t buy anything that you’re going to eat or drink from unknown sources.
In any case I decided to stop drinking all this grape juice, I don’t feel better in any way, my weight is not going down and my energy is really low. I love fruit and if I could, I would live as 100% fruitarian for the rest of my life! But I don’t believe this is a sustainable way of living, eventually my body will naturally crave fats. So to continue my cleansing process I decided to switch to Bone Broth, starting on Monday I think; since today’s Friday I’ll spend the weekend fasting (I guess between dry and water). Killing Candida, or just taking care of the overgrowth, takes time, unfortunately I wasn’t able to find any shortcut that powerfully would help me with this yeast infection, so I need to find a long term plan to help me achieve my goal.

The myth of the mucus!

Today I was thinking at the facebook group of the MFS and how so often they repeat sentences like: “remove mucus from your body”, “if you have vaginal discharge then is a great thing because you’re getting rid of mucus”. Now, I’m not a doctor – neither are them anyway – but by definition mucus is the following:

“a viscous, slimy mixture of mucins, water, electrolytes, epithelial cells, and leukocytes that is secreted by glands lining the nasal, esophageal, and other body cavities and serves primarily to protect and lubricate surfaces” ndr from dictionary.com
Now my question is: how can be that everything is coming out from my body (apart from natural releases) is mucus and it’s the devil?
Sometimes it feels like they all belong to a sect, cult following their Master and whatever he says: it’s the absolute plasmatic truth of the universe! I might be too rational but I don’t relate to them at all and be careful on showing it or you’ll damned by the supreme facebook admins court and you could perish in your constipation forever!

Are Mucoid Plaque real?

In my personal opinion those Mucoid Plaque releases are a scam to your gut and far to be real!
So I’ve been on this MFS since almost three weeks now and did some experiments with my Plasma Pudding  – which I want to repeat, is based on 3 main ingredients (usually mixed with grape juice):
  1. Psyllium Husk Powder
  2. Activated Charcoal Powder
  3. Bentonite Clay Powder
Here what I noticed so far: when I followed exactly the MFS protocol, such as drinking only grape fruit juice and taking the pudding once a day, I started to release long dark worm-like things when using the bathroom (gross I know). I tried to have a closer look to it and I personally didn’t see anything that could jump into my attention as a parasite release, but I could be wrong since parasites are tiny tiny. However there’s no way I have a 3 feet long worm in my intestine. No way.
Then I stopped to eat the pudding for few days, still taking my tinctures as usual and drinking grape juice, but not the pudding. Well my releases came back to “normal”, normal colour, normal shape, normal consistency. It was clear to me that removing the pudding had a tangible effect to the “shape” of my releases.
Then I decided to get back fully into the MFS Protocol, with my lovely mud pudding and the grape juice, however since I cannot tolerate the juice and its sweetness I decided to add some water to my daily intake of juice. Well my releases changed; they came out again dark as the Activated Charcoal, jelly as the Psyllium Husk but not worm-like anymore as before, they came out more “liquid” since I’m diluting the grape juice with water – I would say I have now a ratio of 1:1 almost.
My conclusion was that the Pudding is making me poop in this worm-like way and it’s ok, because I’m sure that all the ingredients of the pudding are very detoxifying and somehow I’m cleaning my gut, but it is not a long worm coming out from the wall of my intestine being there for years.
Often we hear what we want to hear, to justify something that requires such a great effort, we feel better if it’s done with a high purpose and we see every day the amazingly incredible results! Wake up!

My ideal lifestyle to lose and maintain healthy weight

Although I love my Raw Vegan Diet and, apart from the moments when the sugar cravings are over the top for my Candida Overgrowth, I do not miss anything really of the cooked food.
However I’ve been researching what are the best ways to lose weight, to maintain a healthy lifestyle and everything, everywhere and everyone go back to the following list:
  • Ketogenic Diet – HFLC High Fat Low Carb Diet
  • HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training workout
  • IF – Intermitting Fasting
Of course, this list is assuming that no sugar, no carbs, no alcohol is added at any point. In my ideal world I will do it one day as a Raw Vegan!
