Why I'm not losing weight on a Water Fast?

In my experience I narrowed down few reasons why I hit a plateau while Water Fasting:
  1. Lack of exercise – so to clarify I mean lack of general activities. Resting all day in bed will not help your body to consume calories, hence, since you’re in a Ketogenic state the body will not feel the need to burn any unnecessary fat. After all human body is a perfect machine. I would suggest light walks, doing errands or chores in the house, but most probably the best way is just walk for 2/3 hours a day.
  2. Lack of sleep – I found that few sleepless days and being very tired can cause a plateau, I guess even when not fasting. But it’s something to consider if looking for the cause of not losing weight.
  3. If you’re a woman and - TOM is around the corner, chances are you will hit a plateau. I know it sucks but water retention is a common thing before the period starts.
  4. Plateaus are a normal thing either if you’re fasting or dieting; I know it can be very frustrating not seeing any change on the scale when fasting believe me - but, if I’m in Ketosis I’m sure that it’s just water retention and maybe if I’m not losing pounds I’m losing inches somewhere. Be patient, usually plateau don’t last more than a couple of days, and then you’ll be back again on losing weight.
NOTE
  • I never seen any stall in my weight loss while Dry Fasting, at least in my personal experience, so I believe this thing is very rare to happen.
  • Also that might be many other causes why a person hits a plateau; I just listed some of the most common ones for me.

Completed a 10-Day Water Fast!

Ok, so I have successfully completed 10 days of Water Fasting and I'm now in the 11th day planned on breaking my fast this evening with bone broth. I do not feel hungry though, and a part of me would like to keep going and enjoy this amazing feeling that the fast is gifting me with. But everything has to end eventually and since I'm going to Italy in just few days I might as well start refeeding and be ready when I'll be with my family.
The mental clarity while I'm fasting is great, I am absolutely astounded every time I do a sort of longer fast. This is my second longest Water Fast after my 24 days, I think I could do another 10 days without any problem…but, as I said circumstances are against me at the moment.
Today I had for the third day in a row the same weight at 55.6Kg, but my Ketosis has been very high, over 100mg/dL; which is a value I rarely see in shorter fasts. So I don't mind much the plateau for now, I'm sure I'm losing inches somewhere and considering the colour of my Ketostix, I still have lots of fat to lose here and there.
I'm happy to report that I'm still having a sort of BMs, I did few enemas every other day just to help my detoxing process. I used to buy the Fleet enemas at the Drug Store but they're too expensive so I'm recycling it and reusing it after a deep deep cleaning! I know it sounds gross but $10 every other day is not affordable for me at the moment.
I believe that my weight plateau might be also due to the fact that I've been home in the past 3 days and not moving much around, since my condo apartment is very tiny; is not that I'm thinking of doing strenuous exercise or anything but walking at least one hour per day is definitely beneficial for my weight loss.
After I end this Water Fast I want to try to reduce as much as I can the carbs, in particular the fruits. I noticed that I tend to binge on bananas especially if I eat them with the peanut butter powder. Delicious combination by all means, but it makes me gain weight back in 2 days, which is not ideal for me. I also want to try stick on a 2 meal daily plan, basically IF, trying to eat first at 11:30 in the morning and then dinner around 5:30pm. Hopefully I can do it in Italy too, we usually eat late in the evening there, so it might be tough for me smelling all the amazing food my mother cooks without feeling hungry. But I'm planning on having big meals, mostly green leafs and fats like nuts and seeds. Wish me luck!

HCG diet - VLCD #11 a former weight to deal with

I'm officially into the double digits VLCD days; today's my very low calories day #11 and – although my scale did not show any change this morning – I'm happy of the overall Diet.
So far this has been for me the best experience I could ever imagine while losing weight; I know it might take some time for me to reach my goal, but I'm good with that, I cannot expect to become thin overnight so I'll be patient and enjoy the journey. Actually sometime I even think that I'll be afraid of getting off of HCG, it gives me so much boost in terms of mood and energy. I am EVERY SINGLE day amazed on how good I feel, no weak, no dizzy as with the Dr. Bernstein Diet.
My weight today's the same as yesterday, but I knew it would happen since I'm in the 62Kg, which is one of my former weights I had for long in the past, it's common to hit a plateau when reaching a former weight. I did again my measurements this past weekend, after a week on HCG and overall I lost 1cm here and there, some places none, but what is most rewarding for me is that I lost 8cm just on my belly -which is the spot where I usually gain more weight, in general middle section let's say.
In many blogs, videos I learned that usually when you are not seeing any change on the scale, it might be in inches on your body. To be honest, I'm not here every day to take measurements of my body's changes, but I can tell when I won't see much changing the day after on the scale. Since the food is so little there are no regular daily bowl movements in this Diet – as well as with any Low Calories Diet, I had same issues while on Dr. Bernstein; this might be another reason why the scale doesn't show a weight loss. Maybe that's why Dr. Simeons defined a real plateau only after 4/5 days of no weight change, not less than that.
I noticed that if I have 2 fruit servings in a day or twice chicken then I'd feel big and most likely my weight is not going to change the day after. This was happening even during my Dr. Bernstein strict Diet.
For my body white fish or strawberries are things that will make me lose lots of weight, but I had so much in the past that now I can't stand it anymore! Like the Jell-O
This morning I also change my injection spot, till today I had my shots on my abdomen, but I switched on my buttocks, since my belly is full of bruises right now, nothing painful or anything but I just wanted to try a different spot, thinking that maybe the HCG will be absorbed better close to such a big muscle. Who knows…it might be just a crazy theory!
