136 hours into the Dry Fast - 66.55Kg (146.41lb)
I'm finally into my Day #6, still doing well, I don't feel thirsty and my dry mouth is still bearable. I started to have a bit of sense of dryness while talking this morning, but not a major issue yet, I can still talk properly without affecting my speech.
This afternoon after work, I have to go to the banquet hall for my second job, it will be interesting to see my body reaction to a 6-hours no stop walking activity and heavy lifting. I'm usually extremely thirsty when I work at the banquet hall, and right now I'm already dehydrated, so let's see if I will compromise the length of my fast or I'll endure this fasting state. I hope the latter.
Usually at the banquet hall there's ton of free food that is always tempting, but this time I'm bringing with me two containers, to save my meals and bring it home to my family (hoping the picky eaters will like everything).
This morning, when I was walking to work, I was trying to do deep breathing and inhale a bit of the cold air (we are at -12°C today) to hydrate myself - since it's enough humid outside. Unfortunately there's lot of pollution in the downtown core and the deep breathe is not always a pleasant experience. When I'm fasting, my sense of smell is really enhanced, I also enjoy smelling food from everywhere, I can easily distinguish the type of ingredients used in the dishes. My mother had a coconut cookie the other day, and I could smell the coconut even after half hour that she had it.
I enjoy preparing food for my family, it keeps me busy and it helps me not to think much about cooking and eating; somehow I participate to the meal with them without missing the whole experience.
Last night was a sleepless night, I think I slept only 3/4 hours - I hate when I'm turning and tossing in my bed without chances to rest properly. This was the first time, during this Dry Fast, that my sleep was affected. I do feel better this time around, and I'm confident I can keep this fast longer than previously planned.
My mental clarity is not there yet, sometimes I'm wondering if it will ever come during the Dry Fast - since I cannot fast for too many days - or I'm already getting the mental benefits without me fully recognize it. I can see that my speeches are just a bit better today, but I don't feel that state of mind that I get on Day 7/8 during a Water Fast.
This morning I felt, for just few seconds, a feeling in my stomach that I could have a spontaneous BM, but it didn't happen, now I'm wondering if I should do another enema - maybe tomorrow, since today I'm fully booked with my two jobs.
I believe I still have a terrible breath, I used the breath mist a couple of times yesterday, not sure how effective it is. I read on various websites and videos, that this issue should go away after few days of fasting; I'm hoping for that - it is really bad when your breath stinks.
In this Blog I tell about my experiences with the Dr. Bernstein Diet from day one, my successes and my failures, my Eating Disorder and the impact of it on my life. The discovery of Dr. Simeons Protocol and his HCG Diet and everything that followed my Water Fast, Dry Fast, MFS and Bone Broth Fast journeys.

48hrs into my 3rd Water Fast - Importance of Colon Cleansing
I'm doing another Water
Fast in these days, I was thinking to stick
to my plans on doing a 10-Day Water Fast and see how it goes. My cravings
were going nuts lately and I wanted
to take a break from all the banana ice cream, dates and nuts I was having. I
don't know any better way than doing a Water
Fast.
One thing I discovered
from my many researches was the reason why
I was having back pain during my
previous fasts; it was my colon and
the difficulties I had with my BMs. This time around I bought enemas
at the drug store. Apparently is recommended to do at least one enema per day while fasting. Cleansing the colon is an
important part of the detoxing process,
we don't want any bad stuff kept in the colon, we want to get rid of it as soon
as we can, so it won't keep on negatively
affect the results of the fast, contaminating
the body.
So far I just completed 48
hours of my fast, I'm drinking mostly distilled
water and – although I had natural BMs in the past couple of days – I did
do an enema this morning. It was painless, quick and I felt much better
after. I will definitely do it again
tomorrow morning, and most likely once a
day till the end of my fast. I even made an appointment with a local clinic
for a colonics, they gave me an
appointment in a month from now but I got a great groupon offer for half price so overall I'm not complaining.
Talking about bowel
movements might not be a pleasant thing to do but it is an important part
of the detoxing process during a Water Fast. Since I'm not having any food is normal that the digestive
system gets lazy in these days, but I
still have bad stuff/toxins in my
colon that I want to get rid of, so we should always consider doing an enema,
it's extremely easy to do and really takes just few minutes.
I sincerely hope I can complete my 10-Day Water Fast as planned, the
reason why I'm having doubts is not
due to my willpower but more for my
social events coming up. Christmas is 2 weeks away basically and there's so much going on lately, plus dating doesn't help when Water Fasting. I have a date with this
amazing guy on Friday and, although I asked him to do an activity rather than sitting to a table just eating, I'm not sure
he won't ask me to do both, like
first the game and then grab a bite.
It's extremely hard to let people understand
what a Water Fast is and why I do
it. Most of the time people think I'm
crazy knowing that I am drinking only
water for days. I usually don't say
anything to anyone, maybe just a close
friend, but definitely I don't want
to explain the whole process to someone that doesn't know me enough to have proofs that I'm not actually insane
but there are scientific reasons of the benefits
of a Water Fast. I'm also concerning
about my bad breath for my date night! Water Fasting creates a bad breath and white coat on my tongue, I feel disgusted myself so not sure how my date will react to that…I might
drink some strong herbal tea to avoid this issue. Oh well wish me luck for this date!

Water Fast Day #18 - Updates and discomforts
This morning I had a confirmation that being lazy is not good not even when you are Water Fasting! My weight did not change and my traces of Ketosis were small this morning at
40mg/dL, while I had a solid Large
traces for the past few days. I worked from home yesterday, that's the main
reason, in my small apartment there's not much to walk around or to do, and I
was also mostly sitting at my desk doing some work. Today I'm back in the office and TGIF, because I'm getting bored with my
assignments and I can't wait to actually do some real work here. I also planned to go to the cinema after work,
there's a new Tim Burton's movie that I really want to see, and I don't mind
going by myself really.
Tomorrow I want to do a couple of errands, and relax also,
weather is getting colder here in Toronto e I don't feel walking around same way
as during summer, guess why! This morning my
back hurts a bit, nothing crazy
but some pain is there; I admit it every time I have some sort of discomfort in my
body I wonder is it's part of the detox
process, I don't have any confirmation about that but I like to think so
though.
My main discomfort
so far is my mouth, not just the white coated tongue but the feeling of
dryness and the bad breath,
unfortunately there's not much I can do about it, even if I try to sip water it
still feel the same, I guess I just need to wait till the detox process goes to an end, apparently the tongue will turn pink while the Fasting Process needs to end…let's see if I can reach that point
first, I'm planning to stick to the fast at
least for 25 days, to ensure my Candida is harmless, but really my body will tell me when it's time to end it.

Water Fasting - Stage 3 and its amazing benefits
Today
I was looking online to see if I can find which one are the different stages of a prolonged Water Fast, so I found this website which I found Stage 3, in the specific, to be perfectly explaining some of the
great benefits of a fast. It is a must read article!
Stage 3
(Day 8 to 15)
On the latter part of an extended fast, you can
experience enhanced energy, clear-mindedness and feel better than you have felt since childhood, On the downside,
old injuries may become irritated and painful. This is a result of the body’s increased ability to heal during
fasting. If you had broken your arm 10 yrs before, there is scar tissue around
the break. At the time of the break, the body’s ability to heal was directly
related to lifestyle. If you lived on a junk food diet, the body’s natural
ability to heal was diminished.During fasting, the body’s healing process is at optimum efficiency. As the body scours
for dead or damaged tissue, the lymphocytes enter the older-damaged tissue
secreting substances to dissolve the
damaged cells. These substances irritate the nerves in the surrounding
region and cause a reoccurrence of aches from previously injured areas that may
have disappeared years earlier. The pain lasts as the body is completing the healing process. The muscles may become
tight and sore due to toxin irritation. The legs can be the worst affected as
toxins accumulate in the legs. Cankers are common in this stage due to the
excessive bacteria in the mouth.
